The Squirrel did it!

My luck with cars has never been great. It always seems that when I am about to use my money to buy something fun (like a new piece of furniture), my car decides to break down and takes that money away. So it was no surprise that my van broke down this last week just as I was contemplating a furniture purchase. This was a surprise of course because we had taken it in before we left and we had gotten the all clear. The mechanic's list of problems would take over $2500 to fix, but we elected to do just the $900 required repair and find a cheaper mechanic to do the rest.

Well Andrew just called to let me know that the van was ready. The mechanic said that damage was extensive and that we could blame a SQUIRREL for it. Apparently a squirrel in CT made its home in our engine and to make room for itself it chewed through lots of wires and the fuel line. HA! I do believe that would be the first time a major car repair has made me laugh and hopefully it will be the last.
