Losing Composure
So yesterday, Ty came up to Andrew and showed him his new 'Lightning McQueen' tatoo on his belly. Andrew was a bit concerned since we don't have any kid temporary tattoos of that description. So he looked and sure enough there was a 3 inch by 4 inch picture of Lightning on his tummy. It had been done with markers and the drawing was pretty good, so we knew exactly who the tatoo artist was . . . Brianna. So we call Brianna and Arick to come downstairs. Andrew was getting his 'lecture voice' ready, when Andrew noticed on Arick's upper arm was another one of these 'tatoos'. This, of course, meant more trouble and just as Andrew was beginning his lecture, Arick interjected saying, "But Dad she drew a really cool dragon!!!!!" So Andrew and I both looked and sure enough she drew an incredible dragon, I mean it was really good! Andrew was so impressed he had to walk away for a second to keep from laughing in front of the kids; he didn't want his laughter to confuse the kids and have them think he was rewarding their artistic efforts. This of course made me start laughing uncontrollably and pretty soon we were all in hysterics. After a few seconds we were able to regain our composure and deal with the situation, so hopefully this will never happen again. Sometimes being a parent is harder (and funnier) than it looks!!!
